Don’t Know (from Blurred Vision)

How can you learn to love

When all you see is hate?

If this is all you see

It’s all you know

And love, for you, you really don’t know

How do you believe in yourself

When others constantly put you down?

If this is all you get

It’s all you know

And confidence, for you, you really don’t know

How do you learn to have peace

If all around you is violent?

If this is all you endure

It’s all you know

And peace, for you, you really don’t know

Personalities are shaped by experiences

And if all you experience are bad times

How do you ever know how to turn

Something bad into something good?

Sometimes people can’t change their situations

Because all they know tells them

They never could

So true.. This is some of who I minister to. If we want a better world, we must teach that it is possible and we must show how. Serving God is so much more rewarding than serving oneself and/or man. <3 I'm excited to read your book! (((hugs)))

    • Thanks for checking out my site Lail. And I totally agree with what you have said here. We have to help show people the way to be better, with God’s help. This is actually one of the featured poems in my book. Thanks for the follow on Twitter too!

  6. Congratulations you nailed the sentiment perfectly!

From one poet to another – may your new book be successful – may your book be bought from your site like donuts and coffee on a workday morning! ~

    Bless-sings
