A Double Twisted Mule On Tap
Last weekend, I had lunch with some friends at Twisted Root. I always enjoy their burgers, but decided to try out one of their drinks as well. I landed on the Twisted Mule. The drink is the restaurant’s play on the classic Moscow Mule. I took a gamble, because I’ve had as many good Moscow Mules as bad ones. Thankfully, the drink did not disappoint. Honestly, it was the best spin on a Moscow Mule that I’ve ever had. Apparently, the drink has been on their menu for quite some time. I’m just late to the party. However, I’m sure that those of you who have not tried are wondering what makes it so good. I’m glad you asked.
First of all, the drink is a combination of an Arnold Palmer and a Moscow Mule. The drink is extremely refreshing, especially in this brutal Texas summer heat. The Twisted Mule includes Aylesbury Duck Vodka, a scratch made tea syrup, ginger beer (which I’m slightly obsessed with) and fresh lemon. Sounds simple enough, right? The kicker is the drink is served on tap, not poured. Once I realized this, I was even more impressed with the taste and quality of the drink. Plus, an added bonus of drinking any variation of a Moscow Mule inspired drink means you get to look cool with a copper mug in your hand. Ok, maybe that last part is just me.
Trust me, if you’re a fan of the Moscow Mule, you will love this drink. It’s crisp, cool and uniquely created. Cheers to Twisted Root for making a drink that will now become one of my staples. Let me know if you’ve ever tried this drink or leave your recommendation for a new Thirsty Thursday drink you’ve tried recently.
Bottoms up. It’s Thirsty Thursday.
