My Mind’s Playing Tricks on Me
For some, it may be a delectable meal. For others, it may be a soothing melodic lullaby that lulls them to sleep at night. Some people find release in rousing sexual escapades. They are all forms of escape. Though some may be more drastic than others, we all have our coping mechanisms. These last (almost) two years of living in an ever-changing pandemic state of mind have exacerbated anxiety levels for all of us.
Many people may be ashamed that they need someone to talk to. Someone besides a family member, a friend, or acquaintance, but a professional someone who can help them find resolutions for their issues. A couple of years ago, I operated under what I like to call “functional depression”. I’m no mental health professional, so avoid quoting me. However, I found myself in a dangerous state of mind only after I had come out of the other side. Some people don’t have that revalation.
On this week’s episode of my new podcast, Trigger Pointe, we’re addressing the elephant in the room that’s seldom talked about – mental health. Here’s an early listen before the episode drops at midnight tonight. I hope the dialogue inspires you to make the necessary changes you need to live your best life physically, spiritually and of course, mentally.
