The Prickly Pear Pop (Boba) Life
A few weeks ago, I had lunch with some friends at Beto & Son in Dallas. It was my first time at the restaurant, but it was highly recommended. Plus, who doesn’t love some good Mexican food (or Tex-Mex)? I can make a meal out of chips and salsa alone. But I digress. Although this type of setting doesn’t seem possible in the very near future (with the Coronavirus craziness going on), I can at least reminisce.
I tried their Prickly Pear Swirl Margarita, which was amazing. I’m a big fan of anything pear flavored and this drink exceeded my expectations. However, it wasn’t just the margarita itself that stole the show. Enter popping bobas. In full transparency, I can eat a bowl of popping bobas by themselves. Don’t know what they are? First of all, shame on you. Just think of Gushers candy, but juicier with a softer shell. Amazing.
The mixing of the pear and mango boba flavors really set this margarita over the top. I’ve never tasted anything like it at another Mexican restaurant in Dallas (or anywhere for that matter). It’s just that good and the food is pretty tasty too.
Bottoms up….it’s Thirsty Thursday!
